Poonah Open Bible Miracle Centre was conceived many years ago through the desire of the late Johnson Francis to see the young people of Poonah not drawn to a life of crime and drug addiction. This dream began to take form when the San Fernando Open Bible Church, under Senior Pastor Rev. Cecil Quamina, introduced various evangelism initiatives. Initially, services were held at the Francis’ residence, and many souls were touched and won for Christ. Those who remained faithful and served at this outpost put their faith into action and initiated a fund to erect a church building on land donated by Bro. Francis. Upon the return of Pastor Joseph and Sis. Norma Edwards to Trinidad from the United States, Pastor Joe became the pioneer pastor and the church building began. The church was eventually dedicated on Saturday 22nd November, 2003. Pastor Mansingh was sent to Poonah to prepare the church for dedication, not knowing at that time that he would be appointed Pioneer Pastor in April 2011. We became an autonomous church within the OBSCTT family on Sunday 1st February, 2015, with Rev. Mansingh being promoted to the Senior Pastor of POBMC. We stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, as we continue to lay a strong platform for those coming after us.
